Complex oilseed processing
Farmet’s oilseed processing combines screw pressing and feed extrusion into a single, highly efficient method known as pressing with extrusion. This approach delivers optimal results when processing soybeans, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds, balancing high oil yield with quality feed output. Built on over 20 years of experience, Farmet’s technology uses adaptable screw press configurations tailored to different seed types and production scales.
A key advantage of this system is its cost efficiency and sustainability. Farmet’s hexane-free process eliminates the need for chemical extraction, making it more environmentally friendly while producing high-quality feed with an ideal balance of fats and proteins. An advanced energy recuperation system further reduces operational costs by improving throughput and lowering energy consumption.

The technology can be customized based on production needs. It supports one- or two-stage pressing (depending on oil content), as well as cold or hot pressing methods. Cold pressing ensures premium oil quality but lower yield, while hot pressing increases output at the expense of quality. The integration of extrusion enhances both oil recovery and feed value by improving digestibility and nutrient availability.
To ensure consistent performance, Farmet systems include intelligent control and automation (FIC), allowing operators to monitor and optimize the entire process with minimal manual intervention. This results in reliable, efficient production with reduced downtime and improved overall output.

Pressing with extrusion
A perfect combination of mechanical and thermal processing. It employs the benefits of extrusion for the subsequent pressing step (increasing oil yield).
EP1 - One-level pressing with extrusion
One-level pressing with extrusion is a technology specially developed for processing soybeans. A combination of extrusion and subsequent expression will enable you to obtain press cakes of highest quality.

EP1 - Two-level pressing with extrusion
Two-level pressing with extrusion is designed for a number of oilseeds, whose oil content is higher than 35 %, such as rapeseed and sunflower seed.

Cold pressing
The process of cold pressing lacks pre-heating of the oilseeds. The oil retains most of its beneficial properties, being thus ideal for cold cuisine. During cold pressing, oilseeds enter the press at ambient temperature (20 °C) and the temperature of the pressed oil normally does not exceed 50 °C.
CP1 - One-level cold pressing
The technology of one-level cold pressing is based on a single pressing step. No mechanical or heat treatments are involved; the seeds are fed directly into the press.

CP2 - Two-level pressing with extrusion
Technology of two-level cold pressing is solution for both careful pressing and high yield.

Hot pressing
Hot pressing involves a step of pre-heating of the oilseeds. The seed is purposefully heated up to a temperature of about 100 °C. The pre-heatingof theseeds improves pressability and leads to higher oil yield.
WP1 - One-level hot pressing
One-level hot pressing is the most universal and widespread technology for oilseed processing. This technology is convenient not only for seeds with low oil content (soybeans), but also for oil-rich seeds, such as rapeseed and sunflower seed.

WP2 - Two-level hot pressing
The technology of two-level hot pressing offers the highest oil yield of all technologies available. It includes a thermal treatment step in between the two presses to facilitate oil release from the cells of the seed.

Cold-hot pressing
Cold-hot pressing combines the advantages of pre-pressing at ambient temperature and another pressing at high temperature. The cold pressing step gives the highest-quality oil, ideal for cold cuisine.
CWP - Cold-hot pressing
The technology of cold-hot pressing offers high oil yields. The first stage of pressing occurs at a low temperature. Because of an absence of heating, resulting oil retains its biologically valuable substances and is low in phospholipids, which is convenient for its further processing.

Pre-pressing
This technology is designed for diverse applications. Its aim is to separate out a part of the oil (most often down to a remaining fat content of 20 %) facilitating an optional subsequent thermal treatment of the press cake in order to increase material digestibility.
EP0 - Pre-pressing with extrusion
The pre-pressing with extrusion technology finds its use mainly in animal feed applications. The product is an energy-rich and easily digestible feed component, useful especially for the nutrition of poultry and other monogasters, while also convenient for ruminants.

WPP - Hot pre-pressing
Hot pre-pressing before extraction is a highly effective way of preparing oilseeds for chemical extraction. During pre-pressing, a fraction of oil is recovered mechanically.

CPP - Cold pre-pressing
Technology of cold pre-pressing does not involve any mechanical or heat treatments of the seed prior to pressing.

Compact
The press shop Compact represents an entirely novel approach to oilseed pressing. Be independent of major crushers.
Compact - EP1
The technology of one-level pressing with extrusion is convenient of oilseeds with oil content between 16-25 %. The best example is soybean.

Compact - EP2
The technology of two-level pressing with extrusion is convenient of oilseeds with oil content above 25 %. The most common examples are sunflower seed and rapeseed.

Compact - CP1
The technology of single-step cold pressing is ideal for those who wish to reach the highest possible quality of oil. Cold pressing in a single step is the gentlest manner of oilseed processing.
Compact - CP2
The technology of two-level cold pressing is convenient of oilseeds with oil content above 35 %. The most common examples are sunflower seed and rapeseed.

Compact - WP1
Single-stage hot pressing of oilseeds is a proven technology with high oil yield. Thermal treatment of seeds before pressing significantly improves oil release and optimizes the entire process.

Oilseeds dehulling and separation of hulls
Proper treatment and preparation of seeds is a major prerequisite for the effectiveness of subsequent processing. It also influences the quality of final products: oil, press cakes, or extrudate.
One-stage dehulling
Farmet offers two versions of one-stage dehulling: one that lacks hull recovery and the other that includes hull recovery, which allows further dehulling of still-unhulled seeds.

Two-stage dehulling
This technology is an excellent solution for large-scale press shops. It is optimized for high oil yields and a high quality of press cakes for feed purposes.

Granulation of hulls
The company Farmet offers technology for granulation of oilseed hulls, mainly sunflower. Its aim is to obtain pellets that can be stored and transported efficiently and may serve as a valuable biofuel with a high calorific value.
